What We Do

Bridge Saddling (Arch Bridges)

Temporary footbridge and traffic management as required; deck removal to expose the original arch barrel; reinforcement installation and cast in situ concrete saddle; waterproofing with warning indicator mesh; then resurfacing and reinstatement of kerbs, parapets and drainage.

Parapet Reconstruction

Rebuild, repair or replace masonry or post-and-rail parapets, including foundations/sockets, coping stones, expansion joints and impact repairs—finished to match existing where heritage requirements apply.

How We Work (Our Process)

  • 1. Survey & temporary works - Condition survey, method statements and temporary footbridge/pedestrian management; temporary arch formwork installed to support the barrel during excavation and reinstatement sequences.
  • 2. Deck removal & exposure - Carefully remove surfacing and fill to uncover the arch; record and protect historic fabric.
  • 3. Reinforcement & saddle - Install designed steel, cast in situ concrete saddle to improve load distribution and capacity.
  • 4. Waterproof & protect - Apply waterproofing layer with warning indicator mesh to safeguard future works and prevent water ingress.
  • 5. Reinstatement - Rebuild deck build-up, kerbs, drainage details and final tarmac surface; line marking and furniture refit.
  • 5. Handover - As-built notes, inspection records and maintenance guidance.
